Businesses that use Facebook to advertise have made more than $300 million in revenue since the company launched in 2012, according to a study released Tuesday.
The Facebook study, which surveyed more than 2,000 companies, found that Facebook had made nearly $3.3 billion in total revenues from the company in the past two years, according a release from the American Association of University Women.
The study also found that about half of all Facebook ads were for food, beverages, entertainment and other products.
About 90 percent of those ads ran on Facebook, the group said.
Facebook has about 30 million monthly active users.
The social media company said it is “committed to delivering the best user experience possible to all people online.”
The report comes as Facebook is grappling with a wave of privacy and data breaches and lawsuits from former employees.
In January, Facebook said a data breach at the company had cost employees $200 million.
The company also said it had paid out more than a billion dollars to more than 4,500 people affected by the data breach.
