Business Insider/Andrew Nelles A new study shows that the NHL is the “best” to be an NHL fan, according to the NHL Business Banking Network.
The study was done by The Business Banking Alliance, a nonprofit organization that promotes the growth of the business banking sector.
According to The Business Bankers Association, which commissioned the study, fans are among the most engaged fans in the NHL.
“It’s great to see that there’s a lot of love for hockey in this country, and it’s not only the game, but there’s passion about our local teams and the people that represent our sport,” CEO Matt Bynum said in a press release.
The report also found that fans are more likely to choose an NHL team than any other sport, but that fans of other sports are more engaged in hockey than fans of the other sports.
The survey polled 2,924 fans of NHL teams, and found that nearly 60 percent of fans of all three teams (the Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning) said they prefer to watch the NHL on TV.
The next-highest percentage (37 percent) was from fans of one of the NHL’s other teams.
Fans of the Carolina Hurricanes (25 percent), Anaheim Ducks (22 percent) and Colorado Avalanche (20 percent) were the least likely to watch NHL games.
